“My 14 year old son was on an IEP for reading and writing starting in the 2nd grade. With hearing loss in one ear, and confidence issues we struggled to get him to his reading benchmark until the 6th grade. Soon after Covid hit, and school went to remote learning. We knew we needed backup to ensure he kept his momentum up and he continued to make progress to prepare him for high school. Maria worked with him 2 days a week to supplement the very minimal instruction he was getting in 2020/2021 from school. The work she did with him instilled confidence, and he found it helpful and engaging. He’s not only kept moving forward, but he’s changed the way he reads to dissecting the material vs just reading to get through it. I’m happy to say he’s doing great in high school and I’m so thankful for the 1-1 attention Maria was able to give him, it was truly invaluable.”
